MBA Annual Convention and Expo 2016 Review

From October 23-26, 2016, the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) held its annual convention in the home of the Red Sox, the Freedom Trail, and the infamous Tea Party – Boston, Massachusetts.

With speeches from Megyn Kelly, Jim Rice, Jason Varitek, and Capt. Scott Kelly, as well as a performance from James Taylor, the 2016 MBA Annual Convention had something for everyone.

Attending MBA Annual is a great avenue for FICS® to meet its customers and cultivate new relationships, as well as learn about emerging industry trends.

With the implementation of the TILA-RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) in late 2015, it was still a main topic this year, as well as the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA).

“At this year’s MBA Annual Convention, attendees and speakers alike remained heavily focused on compliance, specifically related to TRID and HMDA,” said Stephen Sprayberry, senior account agent at the William Mills Agency. “While both topics are nothing new for the mortgage industry, this year’s convention highlighted key updates to regulations and provided attendees with feedback on where the industry stands following already introduced changes, as well as those that are yet to come.”

Next year’s convention will be in Denver, Colorado, from October 22-25, 2017. We’ll see you there!
