FICS Holds Successful 23rd Annual Users’ Conference
DALLAS, April 27, 2009 – Financial Industry Computer Systems, Inc. (FICS), a mortgage technology specialist that provides in-house residential origination and servicing technology and commercial servicing technology to the mortgage industry, held its Twenty Third Annual Users’ Conference on April 7-9 at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre.
More than 160 FICS customers participated in the educational sessions, open forum and special interest group meetings. Participants learned of valuable tools and benefited from practical demonstrations on how they can achieve the optimum return on investment from FICS’ technology solutions including, Commercial Servicer, Loan Producer, Mortgage Servicer, and their supporting software packages.
Dawn Gibbs, CEO and Chairman of the Board of FICS, presented her traditional opening remarks on Tuesday, April 7, where she commented on the current state of the economy, the success of FICS customers, the success small-to-mid size lenders are seeing in the current refinance market and the future outlook for the mortgage industry.
In her speech Gibbs stated, “For many years, I have seen clearly that the strength of the mortgage industry as a whole lies not with the very largest financial institutions and lenders, but with the types of institutions that you all represent. I have believed in this so strongly that, for more than two decades, I have built this company around serving that market specifically. Today, while the biggest lenders are flailing, it is you that are successfully stepping up and making the moves that will lead an entire industry – perhaps our nation’s economy – to better days.”
Susan Graham, president of FICS, also spoke during the evening’s opening event, where she discussed the changes being implemented to the systems to help automate the demands placed on customers.
“While we have diligently worked to meet the industry’s changing demands, our mission as a company has remained the same – continue to invest in our resources and enhance our solutions to better meet our customers’ needs and help them succeed in today’s challenging environment,” said Graham. “Throughout the year, we made several notable changes to our solutions, and even rolled out a new one, LPOnline.”
Graham also touched on the completed roll out of BusinessObjects Enterprise Professional and Crystal Reports to all customers, FICS’ 25 year anniversary, and recognized customers for inclusion in the HUD Tier One Ranking and the Credit Union Journal’s Best Practices issue.
FICS recognizes its annual Users’ Conference as a premier event and opportunity to spend valuable time with its customers.
“This year’s annual User’s Conference offered our customers the opportunity to network with other FICS users facing similar challenges in the current economy, which was even more important this year as the fast paced and ever-changing environment has forced most of our customers to keep up with the increased work load without increased staff,” said Graham. “Having a forum to discuss the best ways to successfully accomplish this was very beneficial for customers.”
Next year’s Annual FICS Users’ Conference will be held April 7-9 at the Embassy Suites Hotel Dallas-Frisco.
